We have a pleasant dilemma at DBSC. We have more demand for racking than supply. One solution would be to apply free market principals and raise fees. But that is crass, and our leftie bias won't let us do that. Instead we have a simple and well broadcast solution.....racking is prioritised. Firstly in favour of regular racing members. Then (if we have spare) for sailing members. Non sailors have no priority.
Of course the issue is that over time, some racers stagnate into non sailors.
In light of this, next week, we'll be asking some members to remove their boats until they resurrect their sailing program. When you get the call, please understand and be happy that our club has so many sailors that are keen to join us.
