REACH Youth Sailing at DBSC

DBSC is renowned as one of the most dedicated Laser sailing clubs in the world, with strong and competitive ILCA 6 and 7 fleets and a growing ILCA 4 fleet. Our club is focused on providing great experiences for all of our Laser sailors, both on and off the water. Our members become friends, they own a laser and race with us on Saturdays in summer and Sundays in winter

We are proud to have many talented youth sailors at DBSC.  25 percent of our club’s membership are youth sailors (2023), and we are focused on refining and growing specific experiences and pathways for current and prospective youth members. Our Reach Youth Committee and entire club are dedicated to building an environment for youth sailors that is inclusive, fun, energetic, supportive, motivating and professional. 

The DBSC Reach Committee recently formed by James Tudball includes a number of talented DBSC members who also work as our youth sailing coaches.  Our youth coaching team includes Daniel Costandi, Sylvie Stannage, Campbell Patton, Brooke Wilson, Zander Bijkerk, Paige Caldecoat and recently Finn Alexander and Joshua Becker.  We hold regular Reach Youth Programs and Racing available for DBSC youth members to participate in.

Our club is run and managed by experienced and passionate volunteer adult members, who work together to provide high quality racing on a regular basis.  We have fantastic club facilities, a brilliant location on Sydney Harbour with great sailing conditions, a large and competitive fleet, cost effective membership and boat storage.
