As everyone knows the reason the club was started 60 years ago was to provide an "interest" to the "youngsters of this village".
Well this is what we got. .....
Grasshopper 2.0.
....with our youth participating in Sail Brisbane.
The second week of racing, after the youth week, drew to a close finishing up on Sunday. After four days of racing the 10 races delivered a full set of conditions out on Moreton Bay. The series started off with fickle breezes, and culminated with a 25knt westerly on day four. DBSC was represented by Grasshopper 2.0 and Marlena. G2.0 lead the regatta from the start and wrapped up the regatta with a race to spare. Marlena finished the regatta 7th overall and 1st female, a fantastic effort. Both Sail Brisbane and QLD Youth Week were important check-in regattas as the youth sailors focus now turns to Kingston, Canada for the Youth Worlds where DBSC sailors will be tested against the world's best.

Speaking at the press conference, Grasshopper 2.0 said:
"I'm glad it didn't come down to the last race, as Dear Leader's black flag in Kingston was still upsetting me. I can't wait to sail a standard rig!"
Despite the competition to get to the podium, it is all about comradeship.
