The best way to find out about the club is to visit us, and meet some members.
Apart from the week of Christmas, the clubhouse is open from at least noon every Saturday from 1 August to 30 April. Our telephone number is: +61 2 9363 5577.
We are run by volunteers, so if your query cannot answered by the frequently asked questions (FAQs) below or the rest of the website, we will get back to you by Wednesday, 10pm.

The club championship season finale was a fizzer on Saturday, with insufficient breeze to run a race despite an enthusiastic turn out of sailors. Perhaps this was the success of Rod Barnes’ hoist training? Or perhaps it was the interest in finding out the source of Mark Gray’s leak?
Once racing was called off at 1530, Pat Levy and Peter Collie fired up the barbecue for one last steak and sausage sizzle for the season.
Many thanks to everyone who turned up for duties on the day – Michael Osborne (PRO), Steve London (LTRAR), James Tudball (COTD) and Tory Epworth (CoCOTD). Assisting Paul and Shirley in the canteen were Vic Whitby and Mark Gray, with Peter Collie on post barbecue clean up detail.
A preview of the season’s winners is available on our website, and the prizegiving will be at the AGP (make sure you RSVP).
This weekend we swing into the winter series, which means racing is now on SUNDAY morning.
Each week races will count for both a championship and pointscore series, with three races each Sunday.
The briefing will be at 07:45am, with launch by 08:00 for the first warning signal at 08:30.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the winter format in the Sailing Instructions.
Paul Adam will provide delicious soup to warm us up after racing each week.
Visitors are welcome to join at no cost and can launch their boats from the park at DSBC if this is more convenient for them.
The BBWP is going ahead! Can everyone who has committed to subscribe please do so here.
Others are also still welcome to subscribe.
BBWP subscribers will carry a GPS during each race and will later receive a report and animation showing their GPS tracks vs the fleet, together with fleet-level commentary on each leg. Subscribers will also have access to Brett to ask questions on the water (not during the races) and can later ask questions on the weekly report. The terms of the program are available on our website.
Membership subscriptions are now overdue. Thank you to the 51% of members who have paid.
For the other 49%, can you please pay this week? If you are unable to pay your membership this week, please email the Commodore to discuss a suitable solution. Please do not place additional burden on our volunteers in having to follow you up.
You will have received an emailed invoice from Revolutionise Sport (no-reply@revolutionise.com.au). Please check you spam folder if you have not received it. If you still have not received your invoice for the renewal of your membership, please contact our club secretary, Steven London.
The AGP is a highlight of the club’s social calendar, and this year is Friday 27th May 2022.
Once again, James Tudball will be providing a band through his business, The White Tree and there will be plenty of catering after the annual general meeting and prizegiving.
To ensure appropriate catering, please RSVP by 13 May HERE.

We are delighted to announce that the Double Bay Power Station has been in full operation since late December 2021 with 82 solar panels covering two of our three roof planes.
This is an important part of our sustainability program, which Kate McHugh is coordinating. The power station idea was conceived and coordinated by Mark Crowhurst, who also drove its funding.
We are very grateful to Dave Sharma and the Federal Government for the most recent funding of $12,000 under the Powering Communities Program, that allowed completion of our second roof plane. As previously published, we are also very grateful to Gabrielle Upton and the NSW Government for earlier funding provided towards both the first and second roof planes.
So far this calendar year, our power station has produced 14.9MWh, of which we consumed 2.2MWh and exported 12.7MWh. We also imported and consumed 1.5MWh, resulting in net exports of 11.2MWh. Our net exports are over 3x our power consumption, which is a fantastic give-back that we are able to provide to the community in the form of green power!
We still have scope to do a third plane of panels – so watch this space!
Congratulations are in order for Christine Linhart, who has given birth to a baby boy, Flynn on 20th April. We can’t wait to see Christine back at the club with Flynn and Oscar in tow!
Congratulations are in order for Evie Saunders who, after competing at the Victorian Youth States over the holidays, has secured a spot on the Australian Sailing Youth Team to compete at the youth worlds in the Netherlands in July.
This is a fantastic achievement that the radial fleet will attest, Evie has worked hard for and deserves.

James Tudball is looking to build the club's inventory of musical talent for future club functions. Whether you're an amateur or a world-class professional (like Dean Bergman on harmonica, Marty Trembath on bagpipes and Andrew Cox on stadium rock bass), we're looking for YOU! Vocals, guitar, trumpet...you name it...we want it! Hit up james@thewhitetree.com.au if you're interested in getting involved!
