Notice of Race

The Organising Authority is Double Bay Sailing Club.
A day to celebrate Laser racing in Double Bay, open for all ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 Classes

1.       RULES
The Championship will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, and the Prescriptions and Special Regulations of Australian Sailing.

2.       ELIGIBILITY
All competitors shall be financial members of a District of the ILCA and of a Yacht or Sailing Club affiliated with a National Authority.

3.       ENTRIES
3.1     Entries are on-line at https://www.revolutionise.com.au/doublebaysc/events/308903
3.2     Beach entries may be accepted up until 1130 hours Saturday 11th October 2025.

4.       FEES
Entry fee schedule:
• $30 per boat for sailors aged over 21
• $15 per boat for sailors aged under 21

5.       SCHEDULE
5.1     A maximum of three races are scheduled for the regatta.
5.2     No Warning Signal shall be made after 1700 hrs on the Saturday 11th October 2025.
5.3     Regatta Schedule:
            Saturday 11th October 2025

            Registration      0930 – 1130 hrs
            Briefing             1130 hrs
           
Racing              1300 hrs - First Warning Signal.
                                                    Subsequent starts shall be made ASAP after the preceding race
            Presentation     After Racing at DBSC

6.       MEASUREMENT
Each skipper shall be responsible for ensuring that their yacht and equipment comply with the ILCA rules and the Yachting Australia Special Regulations. The Organising Authority reserves the right to inspect any yacht at any time during the Regatta.

7.       SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Will be available soon on the regatta website https://www.dbsc.com.au/the-double-bay-regatta
and at the registration office on the day.

8.       REGATTA VENUE
The Regatta venue is shown in Illustration A. Double Bay Sailing Club is located at 79 Bay St Double Bay NSW 2028.

9.       RACING AREA
The racing area will be the waters of Sydney Harbour in the vicinity of Double Bay.

10.     CLASSES AND DIVISIONS
10.1   Classes and Divisions are as described in the Entry Form.
10.2   There will be a separate start for each of ILCA 7, ILCA 6 and ILCA 4 Classes,
          providing there is a minimum of eight entries to the Class. Class starts may be further
          split depending on the number of competitors.

11.     COURSES
The course shall be a triangle followed by two windward returns as described in the Sailing Instructions.

12.     SCORING
Three races are scheduled, of which one shall be completed to constitute a series. There will be no discards for this event.

13.     PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each Division. Other prizes may also be awarded at the discretion of the Organising Authority.

14.     INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with a valid third party liability insurance with cover of not less than $AUS 10,000,000.

15.     DISCLAIMER AND RISK WARNING
All those taking part in this Regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility.

Attention is drawn to Fundamental Rule 4 Decision to Race “A boat is solely responsible for deciding whether or not to start or to continue racing”.

Double Bay Sailing Club, their officers, and the regatta officials, volunteers and sponsors do not accept any liability for the material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior, during or after the regatta.

The Organising Authority reserves the right to refuse an entry.
