DBSC has been working hard over the past few years to ensure a professional racing environment. With around 50 boats on the water each weekend we are one of the largest Laser clubs in the world. To date the majority of the race officer duties have been undertaken by members, on a roster system. This has served us well, but the next step is to have a regular Race Officer starting and finishing Saturday racing for our two fleets (Standard & Radial/4.7 fleets).
Our courses are located off Point Piper at the entrance to Double Bay. Last season we purchased a new Arvor as the club committee boat. As well as providing a more comfortable base, it affords plenty of room - for both the essential race management equipment, but also the regular volunteers who assist with race management duties.
The time commitment would be from approx 12.30pm until 4.30pm on Saturdays. Club racing commences in September and runs through to the end of April each year. We appreciate that committing to every single weekend is a big ask, so having two or three PRO's who rotate is something that we will happily consider.
