Welcome to Double Bay Sailing Club (DBSC). We are located at the end of Bay St in Double Bay, next door to the ferry wharf and the 18 Footers Club. DBSC has been racing dinghies in various classes since the club was formed in the late 1950s by local residents.
DBSC holds Laser races on Saturday afternoons from September to May. Race briefings are held at 1 pm and the start is at 2pm, in the vicinity of Double Bay, Clark Island or Shark Island. The attached map of Sydney Harbour is marked with the approximate racing area
DBSC welcomes all sailors of any age, including youth sailors. DBSC provides several lasers for hire to prospective members and to members who don't yet have their own boat. We are unable to hire boats for general recreational.
DBSC will soon be expanding our learn to sail and intermediate sailing programs with the establishment of the DBSC Sailing School in the Spring of 2010. This will involve sail tuition for all ages and skill levels using our fleets of pacers, optimists and lasers.
Laser sailors who aren't members are welcome to join our races on the water by registering with the start boat before the first gun. After racing with us three times, non-members are encouraged to join the club join the club if they wish to continue racing with us and enjoying rights on the race course.
